In this performance art video, glass artist NC QIN (ncqin.com) wears her self-made glass armour in the nude and holds its 80kg weight on her shoulders until muscle failure.
The full video, currently on display at Casula Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, is a 15-minute 2-screen performance that first documents the technical process of putting on the armour and then shows the full, unbroken 11 minutes and 55 seconds it took for her muscles to fail.
The video's sound was entirely generated by the live audio recorded on the day; this includes a contact microphone rigged onto the inside of the metal frame from the armour itself.
